The town of Amer and its surrounding areas has an abundant number of attractive yet lesser-known things for travellers to explore. So, if you’re looking forward to the best places to visit in Jaipur near Amer Fort in the morning, then the below-mentioned list will give names that you can include in your activities list.
Before heading on, you can begin your morning regime with sumptuous tea and other things like I mentioned in my previous blog on Interesting things to do in the morning in Jaipur.
Following this, you can head on to Amer where you can try quirky things, such as interacting with elephants. Well, I am sure Amber Fort would already be in your list, so I won’t bore you with its details. And directly move on with this blog focusing on what you can do apart from sight-seeing in Amer.
Just for information, the Amer Fort timings are 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
So let’s quickly begin with the things to do in Jaipur around Amber Fort:
JAL MAHAL’S SERENE LANDSCAPE
Once, twice, thrice and plenty of times! You go one day and the urge continues to once again sit in the calmness of Jal Mahal. The rising Sun emerging from behind the Aravalli Hills here gradually unveils the entire landscape wrapping its arms around the Palace and the city!
SUNRISE FROM NAHARGARH FORT
Be it the local people of Jaipur or the tourists, Nahargarh Fort is one of the places that get the most attention. And why not? This place offers the bird-eye view of the entire city. The view from the fort is ethereal, especially in the early morning when you witness the city slowly opening its lids with the rising Sun to welcome a new day.
INTERACT WITH THE ELEPHANTS
Ever imagined interacting with some of the toughest creatures Elephants on earth and by interacting, I mean bathing, painting, feeding, understanding them? Surprised? Well, this is what Elefantastic in Jaipur bring to you. The enthusiastic team here at this Indian travel organisation answers questions about Asian elephants and offers travellers an opportunity to indulge some time of their lives in an up-close personal way.
This experience costs somewhere around $250-$300.
CLIMB UP THE WALL OF AMER
Most people have already heard about one of the renowned palaces in Jaipur Amber Palace, but what not many are acquainted with is The Wall of Amer. After climbing a few stairs (300-350 approx.) opposite to Amber Fort, near Stage Café, what you encounter cannot be put into words. A panoramic view of the city from a different angle altogether consisting of a flawless sight of the sunrise near Lake Palace! Also, now that it has rained, expect everything green and beautiful!
Try not missing out on this one. But just be aware of the trespassers!
Pay a visit to the 17thcentury lake ‘Sagar’, which was once the primary source of water for the forts of Amber and Jaigarh and its people. The lake can be reached by car. Upon reaching, you can further explore it on foot. Visit Sagar for a calm and relaxed morning here.
PANNA MEENA KA KUND
Next in line is a beautiful thousand-year-old step well & rainwater catchment called Panna Meena Ka Kund. It is known for its picturesque symmetrical stairways. If you visit this place in the morning, you won’t find anyone else, which adds to the beauty of this place. There is also a temple – Jagat Shiromany – right next to this Kund. You can spend some quiet relaxed time here also!
Timings: 7 AM – 6 PM
